Amazon Return Policy

Most eligible Amazon items can be returned within 30 days of delivery when they meet the applicable condition requirements. Certain digital products, gift cards, hazardous materials and other categories are nonreturnable. Third-party seller returns can use seller-specific procedures.

Walmart Return Policy

Most Walmart-sold items have a 90-day window. Most consumer electronics are 30 days and wireless phones are 14 days. Marketplace items commonly use a 30-day window, with even shorter exceptions for some appliances and electronics.

Target Return Policy

Most unopened Target-sold items in new condition have a 90-day window beginning when the order is received. Most Target Plus partner items use 30 days. Target-owned brands have a standout policy: many can be returned within one year with a receipt.

Best Buy Return Policy

Most products use a 15-day standard window. My Best Buy Plus and Total memberships can extend many returns to 60 days, while activatable devices remain on a shorter 14-day schedule. Restocking fees and category exceptions can apply.

Costco Return Policy

Costco’s broad satisfaction guarantee remains generous, but specified electronics and many major appliances are limited to 90 days. Shop Cards, gift cards/tickets and certain other categories are nonrefundable.

Sam’s Club Return Policy

Most items can be returned at any time unless an exception applies. Electronics and major appliances are generally 90 days; commercial heavy equipment and motorsports 30 days; cell phones 14 days. Several categories are nonreturnable.

Home Depot Return Policy

Most merchandise is returnable within 90 days when unused and like-new. Home Depot updated parts of its return policy in July 2026 and several categories now have much shorter windows, so verify the exact product category.

Lowe’s Return Policy

Lowe’s requires valid proof of purchase. Many products use a standard return window, but major appliances and several categories must be initiated within 48 hours. Certain Lowe’s credit-account purchases can receive extended windows.

Kohl’s Return Policy

Most non-Kohl’s Card purchases can be returned within 90 days, while purchases made with a Kohl’s Card generally receive 120 days. No-receipt returns may be possible but can change the refund method/value.

Macy’s Return Policy

Most standard merchandise returns are accepted within 30 days when in original, saleable condition. Store returns are free. Star Rewards members get free mailed returns; nonmembers can have a mail-return fee deducted.

Apple Return Policy

Products purchased directly from Apple can generally be returned within 14 calendar days after receipt, with included cords, adapters and documentation. Products bought at another retailer must be returned to that retailer.

PetSmart Return Policy

The 60-day receipt window is important. Older/no-receipt store returns can be handled differently and mailed returns have additional restrictions.

Petco Return Policy

Petco’s 60-day cutoff is important for many merchandise returns. Companion animals and freshwater aquatic life have separate shorter rules, saltwater aquatic life is not returnable, and prescription returns have separate restrictions.

CVS Return Policy

CVS says most new, unopened store items can be returned within 60 days, subject to manager approval and category exceptions.

Walgreens Return Policy

Eligible Walgreens and Walgreens.com purchases can generally be returned or exchanged within 30 days with the original receipt or order number. Walgreens-brand products have a satisfaction guarantee.

eBay Return Policy

eBay is listing-specific because sellers choose their own return terms. However, when an item arrives damaged, wrong, faulty or not as described, eBay protections can require a seller to accept a return and cover return shipping.

How to Protect Your Refund

  • Keep packaging until you are sure you are keeping expensive items.
  • Save digital receipts and order numbers.
  • Photograph serial numbers before returning electronics.
  • Remove personal data and accounts from devices.
  • Start the return before the deadline instead of waiting until the last day.
  • Check who actually sold a marketplace item before buying.

Return Policy FAQ

Can a store refuse a return inside the normal window?

Yes. Condition, proof of purchase, excluded categories, marketplace rules, missing accessories, abuse/fraud controls and local law can all affect eligibility.

Do holiday return windows always extend the deadline?

No. Holiday extensions are temporary and often exclude phones, activatable devices, seasonal merchandise, luxury goods or marketplace products.
