Delaware unclaimed money FAQ

Is it free to search for unclaimed money?

Yes. NAUPA says searches on official state unclaimed-property websites are free. Some private finders may charge fees, but you do not need to pay DealDropHQ to search.

Does DealDropHQ collect my Social Security number?

No. DealDropHQ does not need or store your Social Security number, bank information, ID documents or claim paperwork. Sensitive information should be submitted only to the official agency handling your claim.

What names should I search?

Try your current name, maiden or former names, common spelling variations, initials, and business names you have used. Search broadly first and narrow the results afterward.

Should I search every state where I have lived?

Yes. NAUPA recommends checking each state where you have lived or done business because property can be reported to different states depending on the address or holder involved.

Can I search for a deceased family member?

You can search public state databases for a deceased relative. If property is found, the state will explain who may claim it and what estate, heirship, identity or relationship documents are required.

How do I claim money I find?

Use the claim process on the official state or federal website that holds the funds. Requirements vary by property type and agency. DealDropHQ does not accept or process claims.

What if I find nothing in Delaware?

Try other states connected to you, search alternate names, and check the federal resources in this guide for tax refunds, savings bonds, retirement benefits, failed financial institutions and bankruptcy funds.

Can an unclaimed-money search be a scam?

Yes. Be cautious about unsolicited calls or messages demanding payment, gift cards, cryptocurrency or sensitive documents. Start with official government resources and independently verify the web address before submitting personal information.

Independent guide: DealDropHQ is not affiliated with the Delaware government and does not hold or process claims. The search button above sends you to the official program listed by NAUPA.
