Should I Buy It?
Tell us what you found, the total price, and the package size. We calculate the unit price and compare it with a verified benchmark when one is available.
How to tell if a sale price is actually good
A big percentage-off sign does not always mean the final price is unusually low. Comparing the price per pound, ounce, count, dozen or gallon makes differently sized packages easier to compare. DealDrop Price Judge does that math first, then checks a current benchmark when reliable data is available.
Why unit price matters
A 92-ounce detergent bottle and a 46-ounce bottle cannot be compared fairly by package price alone. Unit pricing shows what you are really paying for each ounce, pound, count or other common unit.
Why some products do not receive a rating yet
There is no free, authoritative live database covering every brand, UPC and package size sold by every retailer. DealDrop therefore labels unsupported items honestly instead of making up a "good price." As the verified price library grows, more searches can receive a benchmark-backed rating.
How DealDrop judges the price
We first convert the package to a comparable unit price. Then we compare that number with the current benchmark for the same item. A very low price can qualify as a stock-up price; a modest discount can qualify as good; a price near the benchmark is normal; and a price well above it is a wait/compare price.
What can change the answer?
Brand, organic or premium quality, package size, geography, coupons, loyalty pricing, taxes and temporary shortages can all affect value. Treat the result as a shopping benchmark, not a guarantee that every store should charge the same price.
Frequently asked questions
Is a sale price automatically a good deal?
No. A sale percentage is only useful if the starting price is meaningful. Unit price and recent benchmarks are more useful for comparison.
Why does DealDrop show a confidence level?
Some products have strong public data and others do not. The confidence label tells you how much evidence is behind the recommendation.
